The Best Of 2009: Book

December 4 Book. What book – fiction or non – touched you? Where were you when you read it? Have you bought and given away multiple copies?

This is a tough one for me because out of the many books I read this year, there are 2 in particular that stood out for many different reasons.

I finally decided to pick up and read The Time Traveller's Wife at the end of the summer. The movie came out, and I wanted to see it, but I never like to see movie adaptations of books until I read the book. So my reading began. I absolutely loved this book... the story, the characters, the way it was written. My mom has it now and it's in her 'must read' pile.

The other book that really touched me this year was The Book Of Negroes which I blogged about here. If I had to pick one word to describe this book, it would be BRILLIANT. I absolutely loved the story from start to finish and I didn't ever want it to end.

Let me know if The Time Traveller's Wife is any good. I've been debating about buying it, but haven't decided yet. I haven't seen the movie because like you I would much rather read first & then watch the movie!

I am really liking your "Best of 2009" series of posts.

I keep meaning to get to the Time Traveller's Wife, but I'm afraid it will depress me. I cry at books very easily.
