The Best Of 2009: Night Out

December 5 Night out. Did you have a night out with friends or a loved one that rocked your world? Who was there? What was the highlight of the night?

I think I would have to say that my favourite night out this past year was in the summer, with C of course. We were in Ottawa and the event of the evening was Our Lady Peace at Bluesfest. We started the night with supper at C's favourite restaurant, Lone Star. After a yummy dinner, we began a nice walk down to the Lebreton Flats where the concert was being held. There was a lot of traffic, so we decided doing the trip by foot would be best. The ambiance at the Bluesfest grounds was magical for me. Concert going is one of my absolute favourite things to do and I was so excited to be sharing this experience with C for the second summer in a row. He enjoyed his very first beaver tail and we got to watch an amazing sun set as we waited for the show to start.

The biggest highlight of the night would have to have been when Raine Maida came over to our side of the stage directly in front of us to climb the rafters and get a better look of the crowd.

This was a big moment for me because Raine has been my celebrity crush and musical idol for years now and to see him so close.. *gasp!*. It was also really amazing to be able to be so close to see the expression of surprise and shock on his face. He is one of few celebrities who is really still very humble. He really couldn't believe that such a huge crowd had showed up to see his band perform. C and I could both see that in his face and I think that moment made the night for both of us.
