This one was a tough one to narrow down, but I think I'll have to say that I got my best rush when I heard my name being called for 1st place when showing little Daisy Duke.
For those of you who are newer to my blog, Daisy Duke is a little pony that we rescued from a horse auction late October 2008. The couple who own the farm where I board Chelsea bought Daisy to be my little training project with the goal in mind that she will eventually help teach little kids to ride once I had her trained. I started from the day they brought her home. We figured she had been trained to pull a cart, but not to be ridden. It took many months of hard work and included several set backs, but in the end, she's turned into a pretty great little pony.
By August of this year, I had proved to Daisy's owners that she had come a long way and was ready to go to her first competition. Daisy did not disappoint and we came home with 1st and 2nd place ribbons! There's just something about the rush I felt when we went into that ring to compete and our names were called for those ribbons. Months and months of patience and hard work paid off at that very moment and I couldn't have been more proud!
